Photos

I hand edit every photo I deliver. I have studied the Code of Points, so I know what a correct shape looks like on a balance or a leap, and I shoot and select for the frame where the element is closest to it rather than for whatever happens to be sharp. There will be at least 20 photos per routine, depending on how the gymnast performs and uses the carpet, and usually a lot more than 20 if the program doesn't have many drops or mistakes.

Video

Video is a vertical compilation of the best moments from the routine, so its length follows the routine itself: a clean program gives me more to work with, and if there are drops the edit comes out a little shorter. It arrives without sound, so you can add whatever music you like. Two things stay the same in every edit I make. Everything runs at full speed, and most risks are left out. Slow motion stretches an element out long enough to expose every small thing the eye forgives at full speed, and risk catches rarely look as good on screen as they felt on the floor. The routine reads stronger without either. If a risk is done beautifully, it goes in.

Logo & format

My logo is in the bottom left corner of the videos and photos. Some photos might seem smaller in resolution, but that is because I crop in to get better framing. All photos look good on social media. I deliver photos that are mainly 1:1 aspect ratio (square). If you hate my logo, double the price to get rid of it. ;)

What you can do with the files

The photos and videos are yours to use personally: print them, frame them, and post them on your own social media. A credit to @riotcolor.photo is always appreciated. The copyright stays with me, so the files aren't resold, edited beyond cropping, or used commercially (by a club, a brand or a sponsor) without asking me first. Clubs and brands: get in touch and we'll agree on it.

Use of photos

I reserve the right to post any of the photos during or after the competition, or to use them in my own advertising. By ordering, the gymnast's parent or guardian agrees to this. If you'd rather I didn't post your gymnast publicly, just tell me when you order, or any time afterwards, and I'll take them down. No explanation needed.

Warm-up and getting ready photos

I sometimes take photos of a gymnast getting ready with a coach, but you can't request this, since it depends on the competition venue whether it's possible.

Getting the details right

Please give the gymnast's name, club and program correctly on the order form. I find the gymnast from what you write, so wrong or missing details are the one thing that can mean I shoot the wrong routine.

Delivery

Delivery time is 1–2 weeks. Please be patient, or choose the same-evening express delivery. Remember to pay the express price on top of the normal price.

Paying at the venue

You can also pay in cash, or by card or Apple Pay, at the venue. We might have to settle those payments after the competition if the day is hectic.
